Non-Gyn Pathology

The purpose of NON-GYN cytological examination is to diagnose underlying disease states including cancer or infectious processes that can often be detected microscopically by visualizing cytological changes in cells which are exfoliated and captured by fluid extraction from body cavities brushings, washings, or fine needle aspirations.

NON-GYN pathology is a consultative service to the treating physician that involves much more than the mere conducting of a laboratory test. Your pathologist is, therefore, a critical member of your health care team. The accurate microscopic interpretation is absolutely essential to the selection of the most appropriate treatment plan for your patient.
